GUARANTEED COMFORT AND STABILITY
Dentistry is an investment, a long term investment in your health. We would like to celebrate and respect your decision by protecting your investment with a 2 level warranty program which offers 6+4 years of dental warranty. This is what we mean by standing behind your smile and is the most likely the best level of dental warranty you can find on the market.
You may get a total of 10 years of dental warranty with our 2 level warranty program. The first 3-6 years term (Standard Warranty) covers defects and other issues that are not the patient’s fault, and after that, we have an additional extended 4 years term with “No-Fault” Coverage and reasonable prorated fees. The “No-Fault” Coverage clause is also available for the initial 3-5 years period (see details below). We explain our patients in advance how we will be able to care for them if any post-treatment issues arise. We do not guarantee that our treatment will not ever fail but you will have a roadmap and our commitment to doing an excellent job.
This is really a controversial issue. When asking dentists: how long should a dental crown last? How long should an implant last? How long should a filling or an inlay last? You really get confusing answers. The typical warranty and the industry standard is 2-3 years.
On the other hand, our goal is to provide you the highest standard of dental care available today and knowing that we have no other agenda than to be very good at what we do, we are committed to giving you the kind of dentistry that lasts for a lifetime. And often time it does! But when it comes to warranties it is very difficult for a doctor to guarantee the success of a dental, or any medical procedure that is done on a living environment on which he has little or no control over. In many parts of the world medical warranties are illegal and for good reason. To bridge the gap between these two, we came up with the 2 level dental warranty program which gives you up to 10 years of dental warranty on most of our dental procedures.
We are able to provide that level of warranty because we are a Complete Dentistry Practice. All our restorations works are done based on a comprehensive examination and our experience with complex rehabilitation cases and quality
control procedures enable us to produce predictable results and long term success for our patients. All our complex restorations include occlusion check up, centric relation bite registration, facial-bow registration and study models that enable us to predictability achieve success and identify any signs of instability before any symptoms even develop. We can see when something is likely to break down or generate discomfort.
The 3-6 Years Standard Warranty (the exact period depends on the treatment performed and it is mentioned in the "Details of the performed treatments", attached to your invoice) will cover any defective work found in any of our dental treatments including crowns, veneers, bridges, in-lay/on-lays, root canal treatments or filling, up to the original payed fee (which will be credited towards a new restoration). These are usually issues that are not the patient’s fault. During the initial three-five years term, you can also benefit from a “No-Fault” Coverage Limited Warranty with a 50% prorate up to the actual reatment fee. “No-Fault” Coverage means that repairs or replacement work on qualifying restorations will be covered no matter how it broke or why it broke, but the patient will pay 50% of the calculated dental work cost.
Your responsibility to keep the dental warranty in force: You must commit to having a good oral health and follow Dr. Johanna Malita’s instructions in terms of your oral
health by keeping your regular (3 or 6 months) hygiene appointments. More terms and conditions you can find bellow.
During the Standard Warranty period, the remedial work has to be done at our clinic in Budapest and we will pay for your accommodation in a hotel of your choice (but not more than 65 EUR/night). The number of nights is calculated as the nights between the date you first time receive treatment and the date of your last treatment appointment in our clinic, on a given visit to Budapest. This cluase is only applicable to foreign patients that do not have Hungarian citizenship.
The Standard Warranty can be reduced or invalidated:
1. Yearly Check-Ups. If the patient does not return to Johnna Dental for a free routine check-up+cleaning at least once a year during the Standard Warranty period or does not undergo a routine check-up once a year in his/her home country. If you choose to have the dental check-up done in your own country, you will have to provide Johanna Dental with written proof of your exam, including: digital Panoramic X-Ray, copy of invoice, letter from the doctor (report of the findings including periodontal status and decay) and quality digital intra-oral photos.
2. Regular Cleaning/Scaling. If the patient does not undergo routine cleaning/scaling regularly (every 6 months) in his/her home country and a written proof (invoice and letter from your local dentist) being sent to Johanna Dental. In the case of patients with (history of) periodontal problems, regular cleaning should be performed every 3 months or as directed by the doctor.
3. Oral Hygiene. If oral hygiene is neglected the warranty may also be invalidated.
4. If the maintenance instructions given by the dentist are not followed properly (e.g. not wearing night guard during the night).
5. If removable restorations like partial or full dentures are not kept and maintained properly.
6. If the patient’s gum tissue or bone levels are naturally receding.
7. In the event of an accidental damage.
8. If the patient loses/gains significant amount of weight during a short period of time.
9. If there is a general illness occurs which leads to negative effects on the patients’ dental health and restorations (e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, osteoporosis, cancer, chemotherapy).
10. If the patient is an alcoholic or he/she smokes. Clinical studies show that smoking is associated with a variety of oral conditions including: periodontal disease, bone loss, tissue loss, tooth loss, edentulism, peri-implantitis and dental implant failure. Smoking is most detrimental to dental implants restorations but it is also bad for conventional crowns/bridgeworks.
11. If another dentist carries out any corrective treatment on the restorations you received from Johanna Dental, without Johanna Dental's prior consent.
12. If the patient fails to inform Johanna Dental as soon as problems occurs.
Sometimes, bad things can happen to good people. We are not in full control of our health condition. An unexpected disease (like periodontosis, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, osteoporosis, etc...) can have a negative effect on your dental condition, other factors like severe bone shrinking, gum recession or even accidental damage can also bring you to the point where a rework is necessary. No worries, our 4 Years “No-Fault” Coverage Warranty takes care of that. Following the initial three-five years warranty term we give you an additional four years limited warranty for reworks in which we will charge you a prorated fee based on the time elapsed. This is a “No-Fault” Coverage Dental Warranty, which means that repairs or replacement work on qualifying restorations will be covered no matter how it broke or why it broke. The warranty will cover any repair or replacement of dental work done by Dr. Johanna Malita up to the cost of the original restoration. Here are the prorated fees: 60% in the 7th year, 70% in the 8th year, 80% in the 9th year, 90% in the 10th year.

CROWNS & BRIDGES, VENEERS, INLAY & ONLAYS
10 YEARS WARRANTY
You have up to 3-6 Years Standard Warranty + 4 Years “No-Fault” Coverage Warranty.
If you experience a break, loss or decay within 3-6 years (the exact period is mentioned in the "Details of the performed treatments", attached to your invoice) from the date of the treatment, we will repair the restoration at no additional charge, or (if replace is necessary) apply it as a credit towards another replacement alternative through the Standard Warranty Program. Furthermore, in the following four years, if you experience any problems with your dental work, for any reason, you can benefit from our second level of warranty, the “No-Fault” Coverage Warranty Program. This makes it possible for you to replace the dental work for a prorated fee (50% in the first six years, 60% in the 7th year, 70% in the 8th year, etc.) based on the time elapsed.
IMPLANTS
10 YEARS WARRANTY
You have 10 Years Standard Warranty
For all implants we use in our clinic we offer 10 years Standard Warranty. If you experience an implant loss within 10 years from the date of the treatment, we will replace the implant at no additional charge, or apply any ammounts payed for implant (product only) towards another replacement alternative through the Standard Warranty Program. When properly placed and restored, dental implants have a very high success rate and do tend to last a life-time. However, smoking increases the risk developing peri-implantitis, resorption of peri-implant bone and eventually lead to dental implant failure. It is better to quit smoking prior to dental implant placement because otherwise it will invalidate your warranty.
other conservative dentistry
5 YEARS WARRANTY
You have up to 5 Years Standard Warranty
Other conservative dentistry procedures like: composite fillings, root canal treatments, and fixed dentures. If you experience any recurrent decay, break or other functional defects around or related to a composite (white or tooth colored fillings) restoration, or if you have a failed root canal treatment within five years from the date of the treatment, we will replace, repair it or apply it as a credit towards another replacement alternative through the Standard Warranty Program. During this five years period, you can also benefit from the “No-Fault” Coverage Limited Warranty. This makes it possible for you to replace the dental work for a prorated fee (50% in the first six years, 60% in the 7th year, 70% in the 8th year, etc.) based on the time elapsed.
Exclusions: Temporary/Removable dentures, crowns or bridges, temporary fillings, bone grafting procedures (bone block, bone augmentation, sinus lift), tooth-whitening procedures, damage caused by physical stress on the teeth (grinding or clenching the teeth), allergies or other tooth illnesses and their consequences which manifest themselves after treatment and were not apparent before the clinic undertook the work, inappropriate selection of the colour and shape of the dental work by the patient i.e. colour of crowns (we
advise and provide the opportunity to choose during the preparation but we cannot take responsibility for result of the patient’s decision);
We are not liable for any unforeseen root canal treatment after having a tooth prepared for a crown and/or bridge-work. Occasionally teeth suffer preparation trauma during crown and bridge-work resulting in the need for root canal treatment afterwards.
We are not liable for any dental problem which was not visible on the patient’s x-ray and was not foreseeable or predictable when prescribing the treatment.
Dr. Johanna Malita reserves the right to, on a case by case basis, reduce any warranty period offered if we see any signs of serious health issues that may have a negative effect on your dental condition.
